December 27, 2005, New York, New York - Last spring 2005 saw a big increase in popularity for Ballroom and Latin dancing when ABC introduced the new reality show Dancing with the Stars. The show was a huge success at it soared to number one in prime time TV on ABC averaging 17-million viewers a week, and lured more than 22-million for the July 6 finale as soap actor Kelly Monaco (General Hospital) outdanced former Seinfeld actor John O'Hurley

The new show starts on January 5th 2006 with a few brand new Stars. The stars will be paired with professional ballroom dancers on the series, in which one couple gets eliminated each week until the winning pair is found.

Tatum O'Neal, George Hamilton and Tia Carrere are among the celebrities who have signed up to compete in the second season of the hit US reality show Dancing With the Stars. Actress Lisa Rinna, teen rapper Romeo and Nick Lachey's brother Drew will also be competing on the show, which begins airing in the US on 5 January (06).

In conjunction with a blitz of commercial advertisements showing preview of the new star dancers, ABC has recruited a couple of hundred dancers from LA and New York City to dance at different locations in two cities for promotion purposes. Those said dancers would be viewed dancing to the sounds of the Foxtrot, the tango, the swing and the salsa at different locations in LA and New York City.

Needing a surplus of good dancers, ABC contacted dance Chelsea who trained the New York University ballroom dancers.
Dance Chelsea is proud to recommend some of the best dancers from NYU to represent them. The quality of their dancing speaks well of Dance Chelsea who has trained them for years.

Dance Chelsea mission is to educate the public and to promote ballroom and Latin dancing as a hobby. They strongly believe that dancing enhances people's lives."

When you come to learn ballroom and Latin dance lessons at the Chelsea Dance studios you are treated like royalty. A friendly and patient staff makes sure that you feel completely at home. They address your dancing needs and make sure that you achieve them. If you wish to be a good social dancer, a competitive dancer or even if you want to learn your Wedding dance, they plan a program for you accordingly so you can meet and achieve those goals.

They have dance lessons for all levels, all ages, and all styles.
Students receive dance instruction in Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Viennese Waltz, Quickstep, Cha-Cha, Samba, Rumba, Jive, Swing, Mambo, Bolero, Hustle, and Salsa!
They also offer children's ballroom dance classes!

For those new comers who have never danced before, they hold an OPEN HOUSE twice a week where the prospective student can drop by any Tuesday at 8:20pm or Friday at 8:20 pm to check out the studio and participate in a free group lesson!

They offer Gift Certificates that allow anyone or students to treat their family and friends or that special someone to DANCE LESSONS. The certificates allow for choices between salsa group classes, swing group classes, tango group classes, and a variety of classes in other dances! For further information visit:

Why not give a valuable dance gift certificate to a loved one this Holiday season?

Sometimes we are tired of going through the same routine of giving a friend or a loved one a scarf, a shirt, a sweater, a tie and the list goes on... So why not give a gift of value as for example "a Dance gift certificate?"
A ballroom dance gift certificate can open a wonderful door for the recipient.
He or she can learn how to dance the Tango, the waltz, the hot salsa and the popular swing. All these dances will come very handy at a wedding or at a social function.
The person receiving the gift will acquire great self confidence with this new skill.
Once you learn how to ballroom dance it's like riding a bicycle - that skill is yours for life.
A dance gift certificate can be purchased at any Dance Studio. It can be customized for you to include any amount of lesson that you desire. Considering the lifetime value of such a gift... it is certainly priceless.

Good shopping and Happy Holidays.
